In creating this collection, David and Sybil Yurman were inspired by the centuries-old craft of origami to imbue metal with a sense of malleability, draping silver and gold into comfortable, wearable sculpture. “When you put on DY Origami, there is a fluid, sensuous feeling,” says Sybil. When Sybil was a child, her father would give her beautiful dolls and origami from Japan. “We used the paper to create garlands with little drawings on them to celebrate the holidays,” she recalls. “When we opened a door or a window, they would move in the breeze much like a dancer, folding and bending in movement.” The Origami Collection captures this same graceful fluidity, transforming metal into undulating shapes and elegant folds.

Through innovative engineering, a six-row ring from the DY Origami Collection allows the wearer to style the bands on multiple fingers at once or stack them into a single bold piece.
